Logging a breakfast the usual way
Logging it with BiteTalk
“Two scrambled eggs, a slice of toast with butter and a black coffee.” Done.
One sentence. Three seconds of checking.
Talk the way you would to a friend. BiteTalk does the tedious part and shows you exactly what it heard before anything is saved.
Say it
Tap the mic and describe the meal. Amounts, brands and cooking methods all count.
“Big bowl of oatmeal with a banana and a spoon of honey”Check it
Every food appears as its own line with an amount you can tap to change. If something is unclear, you get one quick question, never a quiz.

Calories and macros land on your day. Your target adjusts each week from your real weight trend, not a formula guess.
This week: 1,950 kcal/day (−100 from your trend)
Every number shows its math.
Other apps hand you a total and ask you to trust it. BiteTalk shows the food match, the amount and the calories per gram, so you can check any line in a second.
Real nutrition dataFoods are matched to USDA FoodData Central, over 13,000 foods with standard portions.
Honest rangesEach meal carries a confidence badge. A weighed portion is tight; “a plate of pasta” gets a wider range.
Math, not guessesThe AI only reads your words. Calories come from fixed arithmetic on the matched food data.

AI understands the words.
Math does the counting.
Language models are great at understanding “a big bowl of dal with two rotis.” They are not reliable at inventing calorie numbers. So BiteTalk never lets them. Each step does only the job it is good at.

Questions, answered.
How accurate is BiteTalk?
As accurate as the information you give it. Foods are matched to USDA nutrition data and calories are calculated with fixed math, not estimated by AI. Each meal shows a confidence range: a weighed or packaged portion is usually within about 10%, while a vague description like “a plate of rice” gets a wider range. Even nutrition labels are allowed some variation, so the range is an honest picture of what anyone can know.
Is my voice recorded or uploaded?
No. Your iPhone converts speech to text on the device. Only the text of what you said is sent to our servers to find the foods. Audio is never uploaded or stored.
Can I type instead of talking?
Yes. Type the same sentence you would say and BiteTalk handles it the same way.
Does it understand home-cooked and regional dishes?
Yes. Describe the dish and the amount (“two rotis and a bowl of chicken curry”) and BiteTalk breaks it into foods it can measure. If a portion size changes the answer a lot, it asks one quick question.
Does it work with Apple Health?
Yes, if you choose to connect. BiteTalk can write nutrition to Apple Health and read your weight to adjust your daily target. Health data is never used for advertising or sold.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then BiteTalk. Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or billing period ends to avoid the next charge. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is BiteTalk medical advice?
No. BiteTalk is a tracking tool, not a medical device. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before major diet changes, especially if you are pregnant or have a health condition.
